He had 11 points and nine rebounds but was gassed by game’s end.“I feel bad,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. “First game and I played him 34 minutes. … But he’s going to get adjusted.”Plumlee could end up being a 27-game rental, but Nuggets GM Tim Connelly said he traded for him with designs beyond this season, a sentiment Plumlee appreciated: “It’s great to be wanted, more so than money or shots,” he said. “You want to be valued and you want to be part of something special.”Jokic was selected to replace injured Joel Embiid at the Taco Bell Skills Challenge on Saturday in New Orleans. Jokic is one of just five players averaging 16 points, 8.5 rebounds and four assists.“I’m just kind of perplexed why it took so long,” Malone said. “That would be my question. Gweedore start-up now servicing multi-million dollar projects in America!

first_imgWhen Eamonn Gallagher returned from Connecticut to his native home in Bun a’ Leaca, Gaoth Dobhair, with his wife Christine and their young family over 2 years ago, he was out of work with a family to provide for. After spending over 10 years working in the construction business in the US, Eamonn saw a gap in the market. He saw a global business opportunity, which he could run from the Donegal Gaeltacht, that would involve costing materials, labour and equipment for large scale construction projects across America. And that’s exactly what he did!The company is helped out by Údarás na Gaeltachta’s enterprise development scheme which assists entrepreneurs by encouraging new investment in Gaeltacht areas, nurturing already established businesses, and enhancing the skill base of those living in Gaeltacht communities! “We knew that we would return home one day and when you finally make the decision, you have to do whatever you can to make a living.  It was daunting at first as to how we would start the business, but then I realised that with the use of modern technology and software, I could provide the service from Gaoth Dobhair to Connecticut.”“Then it all just fell into place and I am delighted to say that today, we employ 5 people from the locality and have orders secured already for the rest of 2016”, says Eamonn.“I approached Údarás na Gaeltachta when I returned home, and I have to say, the support and enthusiasm for my business idea was overwhelming. They were finalising the construction a state of the art enterprise centre called  the Áislann in the Gaoth Dobhair Business Park at the time.”“We soon moved in and Meastóirí Domhanda Teo was born. I honestly feel that without their support the business would not have got off the ground as quickly. I now have a team of talented staff all from the Gaoth Dobhair area, and we are extremely busy costing multimillion projects in Connecticut, New York and Boston on a daily basis from Áislann Ghaoth Dobhair.”, says Eamonn. Eamonn is one of the well known Gallagher family from Bun a’ Leaca whose family had the Gallaghers Kitchens business in the 90’s.  Due to a downturn in the economy, which led to the unfortunate closure of the business, Eamonn decided to travel to Connecticut where his brother was based, and he soon discovered there was a huge demand for carpenters and framers there.Eamonn has worked on a large number of framing projects and has worked for some of the largest multi-family wood framing contractors in America providing services and quality wood framing for large-scale projects across the States. These connections have helped him to create a very impressive portfolio for his Donegal Gaeltacht operation.Róisín O’Donaghue, operations manager at Meastóirí Domhanda Teo, says, “Using state of the art software allows us to reduce the amount of time it takes to cost estimate a project by up to 30%, it allows us access to plans, instantly helping us to bid more work in less time. We can share large scale framing project plans online with the subcontractors and we can work from any location at any time.“In fact, the time difference between us and our clients in the States is an advantage. We have a report on all of the costings waiting in our clients inbox by the time they start work the next day. We facetime or Skype our meetings in the afternoon, it’s nearly as if the client was in the office with us.“Our software allows us to integrate easily from measurements to materials and, combined with our teams framing experience and client base, this gives us huge advantages in the industry”. “Moving home was most definitely the best decision we made for our family.  We missed Gaoth Dobhair and our children are so happy here, even though they were born in the States, they will tell you that this is their home.  Myself and my wife are delighted that we made this lifestyle decision for our family and setting up business here was the right decision for us.Our plans are to increase our client portfolio across Ireland, UK, Europe, Asia and as far as Australia over the next 2 years.  We hope to create more employment and we believe that we have the right people, right here. We welcome opportunities to provide an estimating service for any construction project in Ireland and beyond”, concludes Eamonn. To learn more about Údarás na Gaeltachta’s enterprise development scheme you can visit their website!Gweedore start-up now servicing multi-million dollar projects in America! was last modified: October 16th, 2016 by Elaine McCalligShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:Americaeamonn gallagherGweedoreMeastóirí Domhanda Teoroisin o donaghueÚdarás na Gaeltachtalast_img read more

CLARE BOYLE’S DONEGALDAILY DOG BLOG!

first_img28th November 2011Looking out the window this morning the weather is enough to make anyone crank up the fire and stay indoors with a large hot mug of tea! What about our four-legged friends? They love being out in this weather.. love splashing in puddles (the dirtier the better) and smelling the new smells that rain brings to the surface. There’s nothing more satisfying than to see the dogs racing about in the rain… think about it! We love being in a shower, refreshing ourselves and so do the dogs in the rain. Take them out and watch them enjoy life as dogs should! At home here we have a “dog towel” pile which we use to dry them off after being out getting wet and dirty! They love being dried too as this gets the blood flowing and warms them up too. Plus they also enjoy the closeness of owner and dog.Obviously there are products on the market you can use to help prevent a wet dog such as waterproof jackets which do help combat the wet and wet-dog smell syndrome but not all dogs need them. Some dogs such as German Shepherds are double coated and therefore, do not need a coat but if you feel you want to prevent too much wetness, opt for a light waterproof coat and make sure it is fitted well and not too tight to run in.Little dogs such as Jack Russells and Westies or Miniature Schnauzers would definitely benefit from a coat which is waterproof and warm. All dogs with little body fat such as Greyhounds must always  some kind of waterproof fleeced lined coat as they lose heat very quickly. There are also jumpers which can be purchased for these dogs to wear indoors to retain heat in the cold snap of winter. For any advice on coats for your dogs, visit your local pet store or call me and I will try to help recommend the right winter wear for your dogs or check out www.collarmequick.com who even personalised all dog equipment.CLARE BOYLE’S DONEGALDAILY DOG BLOG! was last modified: November 28th, 2011 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:CLARE BOYLE’S DONEGALDAILY DOG BLOG!last_img read more

How Van Dijk’s incredible defensive stat still stands

first_imgVirgil van Dijk’s astonishing 65-game record without being being dribbled past is STILL in effect. It was believed the Liverpool centre-half had lost his impressive record when Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus accelerated past him during the Community Shield, but following clarification from the Football Association, the annual Wembley match is not a competitive game. 2 Getty Images – Getty Virgil van Dijk’s incredible defensive stat is still in effect after the FA confirmed the Community Shield final is not a competitive game Pep Guardiola, middle, was picked in Sunday’s Community Shield final Getty Images – Getty Many presumed the Spaniard would be the first boss to be sanctioned under a new system following the caution. The latest rules that have come into effect in the Premier League this season will see managers and coaches shown yellow or red cards by top-flight referees if they breach misconduct rules.Should particular incidents be deemed serious enough for further punishment, touchline bans could also be handed out. An FA spokesperson confirmed the fixture was classified as a ‘second grade’ game, therefore no stats count towards official totals.Ironically, the Community Shield was declassified as a competitive fixture five years ago, meaning no goals count in any of their statistics, nor do booking or red cards. It also meant a reprieve for Pep Guardiola, who received a booking for his touchline protests during his side’s penalty-shoot out win over the Reds. 2last_img read more
